PubMed is a free resource supporting the search and retrieval of biomedical and life sciences literature and contains more than 37 million citations and abstracts. It does not include full text journal articles; however, links to the full text are often present when available from other sources, such as the publisher's website or PubMed Central.

- If we don't have online access to a particular article, you'll be able to order it easily through PubMed by clicking on the Ascension icon.

About MyNCBI
My NCBI is a tool that retains user information and database preferences to provide customized services for many NCBI databases. It allows you to save searches, select display formats, filtering options, and set up automatic searches that are sent by e-mail. This account also allows you to add the link to Ascension Providence journals within PubMed whenever you are signed in.
Creating a MyNCBI Account
To create a MyNCBI account:
- go to https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/account/register/
- Select a third-party login option (Microsoft, Orcid, Google, NIH Account, etc.) to sign up for an account
- Give permission to your third-party login option of choice
To add the Ascension Providence button to PubMed:
- If you have already created a MyNCBI account, click on MyNCBI and then go to the NCBI Site Preferences.
- Under PubMed Preferences, click on Outside Tool.
- An alphabetical list will appear. Scroll down then select Ascension Providence check box.
- Click on the Save button.
Logging into MyNCBI
- From PubMed, click on the Log in link in the upper right corner of the window.
